About Bel

Bel is an AI-powered recovery companion built by a Bell's Palsy patient, for Bell's Palsy patients. It's not a doctor, a specialist, or a medical professional of any kind.

Bel cannot:

  • Diagnose any condition
  • Prescribe or recommend medication
  • Replace the advice of your GP, neurologist, or facial palsy specialist
  • Provide emergency medical assistance

What Bel can do:

  • Share information sourced only from NHS and Facial Palsy UK
  • Offer the lived experience of one person's Bell's Palsy recovery journey
  • Help you feel less alone at any hour of the day or night

In an emergency, always call 999 or go to your nearest A&E.
For urgent but non-emergency medical advice, call NHS 111.

Sources

All clinical information provided by Bel is drawn exclusively from nhs.uk and facialpalsy.org.uk. Bel does not access, use, or generate information from any other source. If Bel cannot find the answer in these sources, it will tell you so and direct you to a professional.

Lived experience

Some responses include the personal recovery experience of Adi, the person who built Bel. This is one person's experience and may not reflect yours.

No liability

Bel is an informational tool only. Nothing Bel says should be taken as medical advice. The creator of this tool accepts no liability for decisions made based on information provided by Bel. Always consult a qualified medical professional for diagnosis and treatment.

Your data

Bel stores your conversation on your account so it can be retrieved when you sign back in. Your conversation history is tied to your account email and stored securely. You can clear it at any time by clicking the bin icon below your conversation thread and choosing Delete conversation. Your account email is used only to access the tool.

Daily limit

To keep Bel free, there's a limit of 20 questions per account each day. Hoping to lift this as Bel grows.

This tool is intended for use by adults aged 18 and over. If you are seeking medical advice for a child with Bell's Palsy, please consult a qualified medical professional directly.
